Taha Faour is a 5 years old child from Dair Hassan who was complaining of coughing and breathlessness associated with fever. He suffered a lot with these symptoms and had paid many visits to medical dispensaries with no avail.

When he attended Al Ekhaa hospital he was found to have large pleural effusion as seen on chest radiograph which was later on proved to be infected (Empyema) due to delayed appropriate management.

He under went chest drain insertion besides the appropriate antibiotics and this led to dramatic clinical and radiological improvement.

Al Ekhaa hospital is one of the Syrian Expatriate Medical Association -SEMA- major  medical projects near the Turkish borders in the semi-safe region of Atmah.

SEMA has developed this facility and provided it with trained medical staff besides the medical equipment that led to hospital services expansion and development..
